I originally made this post six years ago, and I still get asked about it today; therefore…time to make a tumblr post!
The photographs and text all come from a now out-of-print book that I found years ago in a thrift store titled The Mind. It was printed in 1964 through the LIFE Science Library series. The author of this particular book was John Rowan Wilson, along with LIFE editors.
